On August 26th Lunga Vita Attiva and FINPlus organized the H2OpenDay 2017 LIFELONG SWIMMING 60&abouts at the Bruno Bianchi Swimming Pool in Trieste.
Lifelong Swimming H2Openday 60&abouts is back to celebrate the benefits of water activities in healthy and active ageing!
After the end of the Erasmus Plus Lifelong Swimming project, we are proud to announce that this project is still live and self sustainable thanks to the collaboration of FIN Plus Trieste, the Association Lunga Vita Attiva, under the patronage of Trieste Municipality and Health Agency, the partnership of the Cardiovascular Centre, LILT (Lega Italiana Lotta ai Tumori) and the support of the Foundation CRTrieste.
Saturday 26th August 2017 the Bruno Bianchi Swimming Pool opened its doors free to the 60s and abouts for the annual “60&abouts” meeting that promotes the value of movement and a healthy life style in ageing.
It was a very special day in the swimming pool! “H2Openday 60&abouts" took place in the oudoor 50m swimming pool, which was divided in twos by a mobile peer for this occasion. On one side swimmers could have a taste of water sports activities like aqua yoga, aqua fitness, “slow swimming” under the guidance of FINPLUS instructors and the yoga teacher Bruna Scaggiante.
The ”Relays 400mix”relays were organized on the other side of the pool: as usual the relays are based on an innovative formula: teams formed by 8 team members: 4 women and 4 men and the sum of their age must be equal or over 400 so as to have a free combination of members of different ages swimming together.
The event was very successful with the participation of about 200 people and 11 “&0&abouts” realys: a real festival of sports, movement for healthy and active ageing.
Looking forward to Lifelong Swimming 60&abouts 2018!
